Lawsuit Settlement Question?
Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
I NEED HELP
My father was offered a settlement of 1.5 million dollars because his arm was amputated on the job. This is the first offer and the lawyers are afraid if they push for more the company will file bankruptcy.Do you think he should take the money( which is a small amount due to the circumstances) or should he ask for more?
Also what is your opinion about getting the money via annuity? If he were to take the money what are some things he could invest in that would guarantee him some profit?
I understand but I really need advice.

debt settlement?
Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011
My spouse & I are in serious financial problems. I think we need to file bankruptcy because he has stopped paying his credit cards. i'm keeping up with the utilities and my own credit cards. we own 2 homes, 1 of which is on the market and my spouse refuses to bring down the asking price and now the morgage company has started foreclosure on that property. he's been able to sort of keep with the morgage payments on the home we live in. my ? is, is debt settlement a good option? I don't know where to turn to anymore. My spouse wants to "keep up the fight".

Can you settle debt with a credit card company even in good standing?
Sunday, February 13th, 2011
I am making minimum payments with a few credit card companies but could have trouble paying these in the future. I don't want to go through a debt consolidation company or a debt settlement company. Is it possible to call on my own and warn them I will file for bankruptcy and ask to settle before I stop paying for 30-90 days like most experts say? Can someone give me their advice or opinion on this? Thanks

Please help with, Credit Card Debt Negation Settlement Or Other options?
Wednesday, February 9th, 2011
Seeing a friend fall deep in debt in no time, I like to help him, get an idea of what his options are - Bankruptcy or Settlement.
He made huge debt (over 50 thousand) to 4 major credit cards while in New Jersey.
Since Feb 2006, he has no job, no nothing ... literally nothing, stopped paying, moved out of state, no contact with creditors or response to court orders. (A lot happened with other cards). Now,
Card-1:
With Original Creditor
Principal 10K.
With penalties 15K
Card-2
Been sold 3 times and with an outside recovery company.
Principal 19K.
With penalties 27K.
QUESTIONS:
We understand Bankruptcy may be best option… its apparent it’s quite easy in his case. BUT please advice on the below.
1) In this scenario, how much these agencies would agree for one time payment?
2) How should we proceed OR should we hire an attorney to do this work for us?
3) Are there any better options such as consolidating?
4) Plz recommend attorneys, consolidators, any thing.
Big Thanks.

How will getting a lawyer to help work with collection agency affect my credit?
Thursday, January 27th, 2011
In June, I got involved with a debt settlement company that has caused me nothing but trouble. I got my money back from them, but my two bank of america accounts were sent to arbitration. I am having trouble getting a loan to pay off the accounts because of the 30 days past due notice on my credit report for those accounts. Even with a co-signer with perfect credit, we have ran into various problems, such as living in different cities. My parents said to contact a lawyer and they would be able to set up payments for me, but I am wondering what that will do to my credit.
Thanks!
The collection people said I still have a pretty good credit score, but I just want these past due balance notations to go away so my score will go back up. I have never made a late payment before. I don't want to file bankruptcy either as I would like to buy a house in a couple years. The payments they offered me are 00 per month for six months. I can't afford that.

debt settlement – Is it worth it?
Friday, January 14th, 2011
My husband and I are about ,000 in credit card debt and we are drowning financially. We want to avoid bankruptcy, but we can't even make minimum payments anymore. We have considered using a company called Superior Debt Settlement. They have told us that they can settle our debts, set us up with a payment plan and we can be of debt in 3 years. At that time, they pay for 3 cycles of debt restoration so that our credit score will look much better. Is this a good plan or can someone recommend a better plan. Has anyone ever heard of or used this company before?

I have $110,000 in credit card debt. can't afford min. payments. What is the best solution besides bankruptcy?
Saturday, November 20th, 2010
I do not want to file bankruptcy, but can't afford even the minimum on my credit cards. I've heard of debt managment programs and debt settlement programs, but don't know which to trust. Any advice would be helpful at this point.

I have a car accident benefit lawsuit settlement, wonder which method is best:self invest or structure invest?
Thursday, November 11th, 2010
Quote from FT Markets newdpaper December 27,2006 by Christoper Brown-Humes & Paul J Davies:"strong demand for credit exposure through structured products pushed spreads on credit default swaps to levels much lower than many of the cash bonds on which they are based." I have approx. 0K Canadian and have previously been in the mutual fund industry and do know how to diversify and select bonds, options and stocks globally before the car accident and had bad luck. I take much more conservative view now and yet my lawyer thinks structured is best. The broker offer options plan from straight to other intermitent lump sum of K. I look at it is about 3.76% is the rate and they emphasize it is tax free payments and also protected from bankruptcy and divorce. I had one divorce already from the accident and recently had fortune read and this guy claim I will have another wife by 4 yrs time. But my luck is all good from now on. My personal trading have all been smaller profit 3-86% return.
